Seminario scientifico
"Anatomical Characterization of Glutamatergic Synapses in Health and Disease"
Luca Discepolo, M.Sc.
PhD Candidate, University of Bristol

Abstract
The seminar will discuss region-specific synaptic development and the impact of genetic mutations on neural circuitry by analyzing the maturation of excitatory synapses across distinct cortical regions in wild-type mice and in the dendate gyrus of a mouse model of Angelman Syndrome.

Biography
Luca Discepolo is a Ph.D. candidate in Translational Health Sciences at the University of Bristol. His research focuses on synapse development in cortical circuits, with applications to neuropsychiatric and rare diseases (e.g. Angelman Syndrome). He has conducted preclinical research at Roche (Basel, Switzerland) and at Oxford. His expertise spans histology, confocal microscopy, electrophysiology.
